1. 에픽/앳머스페릭 블랙메탈 밴드

1993년에 Silenius (Michael Gregor), Protector (Richard Lederer)에 의해 결성된 2인 밴드이다.
가사의 테마는 초기 EP/Demo 시절까지는 오컬트가 주 테마였지만. 1집 Lugburz부터 톨킨의 소설이 주 가사테마가 되었다.
정통파 메탈 리스너들 사이에선 심포닉 블랙은 두고두고 까임거리가 되있지만. 예외로 Enslaved , Fanisk , Graveland, Nokturnal Mortum 등과 함께 안 까이는 심포닉 블랙중 하나.

Summoning의 첫 앨범이자 가장 저평가를 받는 앨범인데, 들어보면 대충알겠지만 무진장 조잡한(뭐 세컨웨이브가 대부분 그렇겠지만) 음질을 자랑한다.
취향차에 따라서 호불호가 갈리겠지만 후기 작품들을 들어보면 이건 그저...

6집이 나온이후로 7년을 또 잠수를 타다가 2013년 발표된 7집. 이지만 오히려 6집 Oath Bound보다 더 저평가 받는앨범.
기타 톤의 변화, 옛날의 구질거리던 신디를 다 갈아엎어버리고 새로운 사운드로 교체, 드럼사운드의 교체도 있는것 같고 깔끔하고 청량감이 있어서 에픽함 보다는 앳머스페릭함을 중시한 느낌?
그래도 이것도 이것대로 들을만하다. 옛날 사운드보다 이런 사운드가 더 맞는사람도 있고 그러니..
