1. 개요

미국의 싱어송라이터로, 로큰롤의 전설 중 하나로 회자된다. 주로 R&B 음반을 많이 냈으며, 그의 음반들은 발매되는 속속 판매량 100만 장을 훌쩍 넘기고는 했다. 루이지애나 주 뉴올리언스에서 프랑스 크리올인 부모 사이에서 태어났다. 첫 음반이었던 <The Fat Man>이 큰 성과를 거둔 이후로 총 23곡의 밀리언 셀러를 기록했다고 한다.

3. 여담

예명인 'Fats Domino'는 그 특이함 때문인지 가수 이름이 아닌 밴드나 그룹의 이름으로 오해되기도 한다.
패츠 도미노는 2005년 뉴올리언즈에 허리케인 카트리나가 상륙했을 때 실종되었다가 얼마 후 구조되기도 했다.
