Wings at the Speed of Sound 앨범에 수록되었다. 디스코의 전성시대라는 1970년대 중반 흐름에 제대로 편승한 곡으로 통통 튀는 베이스 리듬과 브라스 사운드가 경쾌한 전형적인 디스코, 평크(Funk) 장르의 곡이다.[1] 빌보드 핫 100 5주 연속 1위, 1976년 빌보드 '''연말 차트 1위'''에 오르며 1976년을 통틀어서 미국에서 제일 성공한 곡이다. 비틀즈 시절 빌보드 연말 차트 1위를 기록한 곡은 1964년 I Want To Hold Your Hand, 1968년 Hey Jude 두 곡이다. 비틀즈 해체 이후 멤버들 솔로 활동에선 이 곡 뿐인데, 이 곡을 통해 폴 매카트니는 '''빌보드 역사상 유일하게 3개의 연말 차트 1위 곡'''을 기록한 아티스트가 됐다.
가사가 단순한데, 폴의 노래는 달콤하기만 하고 사랑 타령만 한다는 평론가들의 비난에[2] '사랑이 뭐 어때서!'라며 정면으로 맞서는 듯한 가사이다. 어찌 보면 'Listen to What the Man Said'의 메시지를 조금 더 노골적으로 드러낸 곡.

[1] 실제로 1970년대 중반 이후 폴 매카트니는 윙스 투어에 브라스 세션을 끌고 다녔다. 뿐만 아니라 Venus and Mars부터 Back to the Egg까지의 윙스 앨범은 펑크나 디스코 풍 트랙을 꼭 넣었다.

[2] 1970년대 초반까지 존 레논은 좌파적 성향의 노래를 많이 썼다. 가사의 메시지가 완화된 1970년대 중반 이후에도 사회적인 내용을 다루는 가사가 꽤 많다. 이에 비해 폴의 가사가 주로 사랑을 다루는 바람에 존은 폴이 보수주의자라고 깐 일화도 있다. 그러나 폴 역시 채식주의 활동 및 친환경 활동 등 여러보로 진보적인 면보를 보인다. 굳이 비교하자면 존 레논은 노동이나 정치 문제에 진보적 목소리를 내는 구좌파에 가깝다면, 폴은 환경이나 생태 문제에 관심을 보이는 성향이라 할 수 있다.
